Send Documents for Signature

Sending a document for signature should take less time than writing the email about it. Upload the file, add the people who need to sign, choose how to reach them — email, text, WhatsApp or a QR code in person — and track it until the last signature comes in. Everyone gets the same sealed PDF at the end.

Signatures that stall in inboxes

Most documents do not stall because people refuse to sign; they stall because the request is buried in email, the signer is on a phone, or the process asks them to print and scan. Every extra step costs a day. The fastest workflows meet signers where they already are.

What the template covers

Any document

PDF or Word, uploaded from your computer, your phone or Google Drive.

Several signers, each with their own link

Add as many signers as needed; each gets a personal link and the document completes when the last one signs.

Choose the channel

Email, text message, WhatsApp, or a QR code for someone standing in front of you.

Proof on every document

Optional identity checks, and a signature certificate with time, IP, device and the document's SHA-256 fingerprint.

Legally binding nationwide

The Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act, 15 U.S.C. § 7001, provides that a signature, contract or record may not be denied legal effect solely because it is in electronic form, and every state except New York has adopted the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act; New York reaches the same result through its Electronic Signatures and Records Act. A few document types remain outside these laws — wills, certain family-law documents and some court and utility notices, for example — so check before sending those for e-signature.

A nonprofit's volunteer forms

A nonprofit in Minneapolis needed signed volunteer agreements and photo releases from 150 people before an event. Instead of a signing table, it texted links to each volunteer a week ahead. 140 signed before the event; the rest signed at check-in by scanning a QR code.

Questions people ask about this

How do I send a document for signature for free?

Upload it, add the signers, and send the links by email, text, WhatsApp or QR code. You can start without paying.

Do signers need an account?

No. They open their link and sign in the browser.

Can I see who has signed?

Yes. Each document shows which signers are pending and who has signed.

Which documents cannot be signed electronically?

ESIGN excludes wills, codicils and testamentary trusts, certain family-law documents, court documents, and some notices such as utility shut-offs and eviction or foreclosure notices for a primary residence.

Can I send the same document to many people?

Yes. For forms each person signs separately — waivers, policies, releases — share a template link so every person completes and signs their own copy.

What do signers receive at the end?

A copy of the fully signed PDF with its signature certificate.

Can I send a reminder?

Yes. Re-send the link by text, WhatsApp or email to anyone who has not signed yet.

Can I cancel a request?

Yes. Delete the pending document and its links stop working.

Is there a limit on file size?

Typical contracts and forms upload quickly. Very large scanned files are best compressed before uploading so signers can open them easily on a phone.

Can signers download their copy?

Yes. Every signer receives and can download the final signed PDF.
