Custom-Branded Electronic Signature
A contract that arrives with a stranger's logo on it — the signing platform's branding, not yours — reads as less official to the person receiving it. Custom branding puts your own logo, colors and company details on the documents your business sends, so what your client or vendor sees is your business, not a third-party tool.
Branding affects how seriously a document is taken
A client signing a contract wants to feel like they are dealing with your company directly, not routed through an unfamiliar third-party service they have never heard of. A document that shows your logo, your company address and your identity block reads as a natural extension of your business. One that shows only a generic signing tool's branding can create a moment of hesitation — is this really from the company I am working with?
What the template covers
Your logo, sized and positioned as you choose
Upload your logo once in your branding profile, choose its size and position, and it applies automatically to every document you generate from that point forward.
Your company's full legal and contact identity
Legal name, address, EIN, phone, email and website appear on generated documents as your company's identity block, not a generic placeholder.
Your brand colors and font
Primary and secondary brand colors, plus a chosen font, carry through to generated PDFs and quote documents for visual consistency with the rest of your business materials.
Applied automatically, not configured per document
Set your branding profile once in settings — every document you generate afterward uses it by default, without repeating the setup for each new contract.
Does custom branding affect a signature's legal validity?
No — branding is a presentation layer, entirely separate from the underlying signature evidence. Regardless of what logo or company identity appears on the document, the signature itself remains valid under the ESIGN Act, 15 U.S.C. § 7001, backed by the same identity verification, IP logging, timestamp and SHA-256 audit trail used across the platform.
A consultancy that looked bigger than it was
A two-person consultancy sending service agreements to enterprise clients found that prospects occasionally hesitated when a generic-looking signing request landed in their inbox from an unfamiliar tool. After setting up a branding profile — logo, company colors, full legal identity block — the same agreements arrived looking like they came from a polished, established firm rather than a signing tool neither party had used before. The founder later described it as "the cheapest thing we did that actually mattered" for how prospects perceived the business before a single call had happened.
Questions people ask about this
Does custom branding cost extra?
No — branding customization, including logo, colors and company identity, is available without a separate branding fee, though generation and signature volume are still subject to your plan's normal limits.
Can I use different branding for different clients or teams?
The branding profile applies at the account or company level by default; for a company workspace with multiple teams needing distinct branding, reach out to check current configuration options for that use case.
Will the recipient know the document was generated through Codec Document?
The document itself displays your branding as the primary identity; some platform-level elements, like the signing interface a recipient interacts with, remain part of the underlying signing experience rather than being fully removed.
Where do I set up my branding profile?
From your account settings, under the branding section — it takes a few minutes to upload a logo, set colors, and fill in your company identity block once.
